The Pennsylvania Society of Colon and Rectal Surgery warmly invites you to share in our annual Bacon Oration on Thursday October 15th at 7:30 pm. Dr. Thomas Read, president-elect of the ASCRS, will speak to our society virtually on, “Rectal Cancer: What We Knew With Certainty...What We Think We Know Now.” It would be fantastic if you can join us in honoring Dr. Bacon’s legacy and sharing in the talents and insights of our incoming ASCRS president.

Due to ongoing issues with COVID19, the PASCRS Executive Council has decided to cancel the 2020 Research Meeting this May. We look forward to seeing everyone in the Fall for the Bacon Oration.
The 2020 PASCRS research meeting will be held Friday May 15th at the Marriott Old City. Abstracts will be due April first. Instructions for abstract submission will be posted soon.
Summer is quickly ending. This year's Bacon Oration will be held at the Union League on September 13th. As per tradition, the speaker will be the incoming President of the ASCRS. This year's speaker is Dr Neil Hyman and the title of his talk is "Emerging concepts in the nature and pathogenesis of anastomotic leaks after colorectal resection"
This year's resident research meeting will be held on Friday May 10th at the Union League of Philadelphia. Online registration is open.
Abstracts are being collected for presentation at the meeting. Deadline is Monday April 8th. If you are a resident or fellow and wish to submit an abstract, please follow this link.

The 2018 Bacon Oration will be held this year on October 5th at 6:30 PM. This year's meeting will be held at the Sheraton Society Hill in Old City. Per tradition, the incoming President of the American Society Of Colon and Rectal Surgeons will be giving the annual address in honor of Dr Harry Bacon. This year's speaker is Dr Tracy L Hull from the Cleveland Clinic who will be speaking about "Lessons Learned in Coloretal Surgery". Please click here to register for the meeting.
The Pennsylvania Colorectal Society is the oldest regional Colorectal Society in the United States. It has enjoyed a wonderful tradition dating back almost 100 years!
In 1929 Dr. Harry E. Bacon conceived a plan of organizing a local society for dissemination the knowledge of diseases of the colon and rectum, and in 1932 it was officially incorporated.
